Welcome to the 11th XMAS MIX CONTEST!

The jury listened to, analyzed and compared almost 600 contest entries (anonymously, of course) until it was finally settled who would win this year’s prizes for the best mix and the best remix of the contest song “Let There Be Snow”.
Once again, you didn’t make it easy for us – but in the end we managed to choose the different winners of the main and special prizes.
We would also like to thank all the other participants who spent a lot of time and used their creativity to make this year’s Mixcontest so exciting and interesting.
You can be sure – this was not the last XMAS MIX CONTEST!

Main Prize Mix

This year’s winner in the Mix category is Vincent Blum from Hamburg.

His mix convinced the jury with a professional overall sound: Excellent EQing and good dynamic control make for a very professional overall result. Another decisive element was the convincing spatiality. Respect and congratulations to Hamburg!

Vincent is a qualified specialist for event technology and works as a live sound engineer. Besides he runs a small hobby studio where he mixes his own projects.

The mixing was done in Reaper with plugins from various manufacturers and hardware from Klark, SSL and Heritage Audio.

Main Prize Remix

This year the prize for the best remix goes to Vladislav Pirov from Mukachevo/Ukraine.

His remix convinced the jury with its creative and musical approach, the authentic sound and the well-done song atmosphere. Respect and congratulations to Ukraine!

Vladislav works as an audio engineer in his own studio. For the remix he used Logic Pro X, plugins from UAD, Softube, iZotope, NI and various software instruments.

You are allowed to master, copy & paste and pitch or even remove individual elements. For the sake of fairness it’s not allowed to add new tracks or to change tempo, pitch or structure of the song.

The jury is looking for harmonious sound characteristics with balanced levels that fits in the genre, a well-defined spatial depth and a natural overall sound.

Your options for the remix are endless: use those tracks of the download you want and add whatever you like. Nothing’s forbidden – but of course the song should still be recognisable and “radio-compatible”😊 Let your creativity run wild!

When rating the remix, the jury pays attention to sound quality, sound design, arrangement and balanced proportions.

„Let There Be Snow“ by HOFA CEO Jochen Sachse is a modern a cappella song with the fantastic lead vocals by Stephanie Lenk and Milos Malesevic, supported by 4 more singers and an impressive beat of body percussion and vocal drums.

The tempo of the song is 90 bpm, the tracks are on hand as 24 bit wav files in 44.1 kHz and 96 kHz.
